These proposed changes are extremely harmful to the beauty that is the nature of Ontario. So many people travel all over Ontario and the natural areas just to be surrounded by nature. Lire davantage

- Protect evidence-based conservation. Scientific findings should NOT be politically vetoed. - Do NOT narrow the definition of ‘habitat,’ recovery depends on future restoration zones. - Bring back mandatory recovery plans! Species need long-term strategies, not short-term fixes. Lire davantage

I oppose putting economic growth ahead of species protection. Scientific findings shouldn't be politically vetoed. The Ontario Gov MUST to Protect evidence based conservation. Don't slender the definition of 'habitat,' recovery depends on future restoration zones. Lire davantage

We need species in Ontario. It should not matter if a species is fairing alright in an other province. Farms need pollinators protected in all provinces for their crops. Lire davantage

The government’s proposal for enabling the Species Conservation Act, 2025 will undermine progress on the Ontario Biodiversity Strategy and further imperil our most vulnerable species. The government proposal does not address the following concerns: Lire davantage

There must be NO DELISTING of any species currently listed under O. Reg. 230/08: Species at Risk in Ontario List... . Frankly, there should NOT be any changes at all to Ontario's Endangered Species Act, 2007. Lire davantage

I have significant concerns respecting the proposed regulations implementing the Species Conservation Act. Measures to protect species at risk should not be considered 'red tape' that get in the way of economic development. Lire davantage

This does not strengthen protect but limits protection and removes commenting from the public. Repel all of Bill 5!

With the current climate crisis and risks to loss of biodiversity, we cannot weaken protections for at risk species, period. Do not put business before the environment. We will all suffer in the long run.

I was unhappy to hear, that in a time of massive species extinction and wild climate changes, that the Ontario government would decide to reduce the protections offered to our varied and beautiful wildlife and environment. Lire davantage

It makes no ecological sense to reduce the definition of “habitat” to mere immediate dwellings like dens, nesting sites or critical root zones. Species need large areas not just to sleep but to carry out their life processes like foraging, hunting and mating. Lire davantage

I am in favour of economic development, intensification of downtown cores, ensuring livable cities, and speeding up housing development in Ontario. However, all of this MUST be done responsibly and with the safety and security of future generations in mind. Lire davantage

This is absolutely shameful. At a time when nature is in crisis and nearing the brink of collapse, we need to be protecting MORE species, not less. I do not support this legislation, and think that delisting hundreds of native species from the SARO list will be an absolute tragedy in the long run. Lire davantage
