Development and protection don’t have to be at odds. We can build infrastructure efficiently while still upholding our responsibility to protect other species. That balance is what real progress looks like.

I oppose putting economic growth ahead of the protection of species. Conservation and protection should be based on scientific evidence, and should not be politically vetoed. The definition of habitat should not be narrowed, recovery depends on future restoration zones. Lire davantage

Every species lost is gone forever. Yet Ontario is poised to erase protections for over 100 at-risk species — handing developers a free pass to destroy habitat without consequences. We will not stand by as the Endangered Species Act is gutted. Lire davantage

These legislation changes are SHOCKING!!!! Ceasing to recognize more than 106 different species at risk is beyond comprehension in today's world. Yes, it's the conservative approach to place $$$ over the environment that we all depend on ... Lire davantage

Mr. Ford, as a citizen and a human totally dependent on the rest of the natural world for every bit of my life, I am totally appalled at the priority that you continue to put on enriching your friends (and yourself?) over wildlife and nature. Lire davantage

Removing spieces from these lists is going backwards. More needs to be done to protect habitat so species at risk can thrive. Ontario is has already lost loads of natural spaces for constant growth. Removing spieces at risk to speed up development is not the right approach

I OPPOSE the proposed changes to the Species Conservation Act. The federal Species at Risk Act does NOT protect species and habitat within the provincial domain. ALL species, including aquatic species and migratory birds, need protection and conservation. Lire davantage

I am appalled by the government's decision to weaken environmental protections and to eliminate protections for endangered species here in the province of Ontario. Economic growth need not come at the expense of nature. Lire davantage

We've gone well beyond the traditional bureacratic red tape of yesteryear. Now it's always this constant protest the public has to do around corporate power and money and their lobbyists who keep pushing their selfish profits and interests, while always spinning a corporate media narrative. It is incredibly shortsighted to remove so many animals from the endangered list in Ontario. As we witness increasing rates of extinction we should be increasing protections, not decreasing or removing them. When species disappear, there are ripple effects that we cannot predict. Lire davantage

I disagree with the changes. All animals and the environment need to be protected. Removing 106 species off the list is wrong. Fast tracking to make a quick buck is wrong without correctly considering the long term affects to our environment.

When money and political gain outweigh science and conservation, we all lose. Evidence must lead the way.We can’t keep trading ecosystems for short-term gain. Evidence-based conservation must come before dollars and power.

Disgraceful and shameful. Remember when the provincial slogan was "Ontario yours to discover"? Remember when wildlife and nature were the hallmarks of a healthy Ontario? Species at risk and species of concern are fragile and our most valuable asset. Life itself. Lire davantage
