As a former resident of Oakville and current resident of Halton region, I'm disappointed that the Province is ignoring the will of the people of Oakville. While, there should be moderate density in this area, this MZO will only make it more difficult for people to drive to transit. Lire davantage

Please do not build this in that area. The traffic is terrible already. Getting out of the GO Train lot and onto Trafalgar takes forever. One you’re on Trafalgar it’s gridlock at rush hour. My other concern is all the tall buildings that have been going up all over Oakville. Lire davantage

This is quite possibly the most ideal location for high density in all of Oakville! This project should be fast tracked to bring in much needed housing. The location adjacent to GO and very nearby to Higjways and major arterial roads(Trafalgar). Lire davantage

I do not want huge skyscrapers in midtown Oakville!!! These buildings will create gridlock that will only compound the burgeoning disaster for motorists and pedestrians. Lire davantage

11 skyscrapers in Oakville, ON will completely destroy the streetscape of this charming community. As a resident of Milton and a conservative, I am appauled at the lack of vision of this government. The densification of downtown Burlington is a disaster. Lire davantage

The plan for high rise towers in the midtown goes against the basic principle of moving to a suburb. The high density and resulting congestion and constraints would destroy the suburban experience and create an environment not conducive to raising a family outside of a major metropolitan area. The Town of Oakville has capable councillors and leadership who are able to decide what will and will not work for our community. Unless there is provincial investment in a new north/south artery in Oakville at 6th or 8th line, this proposal makes no sense. Lire davantage

I take the Oakville Gotrain to Union station 3-4 times a week. The traffic around 7 am to get into the Go parking lot is very busy and there are long lines to turn left into the lot. The traffic at the end of the day, between 5 to 6 PM is complete chaos to get out of the Go parking lot. Lire davantage

The plan to build 6,881 condominium in midtown core of Oakville is irresponsible. It will create excessive density with no benefit to the community or infrastructure to accommodate this growth. 500 sq ft condos will not solve the housing crisis. Lire davantage

I’m not opposed to new housing, but This is pure greed. 11 condo towers? Build townhouses/bungalows. I’m in my 60’s. Live in Oakville. When we downsize, never a condo. Townhouse with minimal stairs, you have a sale. Build an area for seniors to live in bungalows like the Villages in Florida. Lire davantage

the cross Ave has already been very busy, this plan will cause huge traffic chaos in this area, and it is also very irresponsible in terms of current real estate market.

The provinces plan allows for far too many units to be place in an area with little transit and, given the geography, no chance for there to be appropriate transit. Oakville has not been designed for this level of density and this will just lead to extreme congestion. Lire davantage

When you create a commuter community you don't get people that care about the town necessarily, you just get people that want an easy commute and as a result they don't treat their housing or the locals with respect. Lire davantage

I am opposed to this high density development plan. If you've ever observed the Oakville GO station during rush hour, the traffic is borderline-obscene, with many drivers resorting to aggressive and dangerous driving in order to get through the bottleneck intersections. Lire davantage

This density plan is way too much the infrastructure does not support this density, thats why the town council voted no. Then the province overturned that decision?! We are the people who have to live with the changes. Lire davantage

Curious, Has anyone from the Province visited the area between 4:00-5:30 on any work day?? Nowhere do I see an objection based on traffic congestion and productivity within the community. Lire davantage
