Please please keep your hands off our Provincial Parks! This is not something Ontario people voted for. The wildlife is important as is our beaches and free spaces! Stop selling off Ontario!

Canada is a place of beauty, nature and love. The culture of capitalism encroaching on our lives via greedy corporations and thier golf club besties makes me sick. Green space needs to be protected, not sold off to suit backroom deals. Read more

As a resident of this area, I think that this proposal is a slap in the face for all of Ontarians, who value our beautiful public beaches and natural lands. They should not be sold under any circumstances for profit to developers to make money off of them. These lands need to stay public forever. Read more

I am writing as a resident of Grey County who cares deeply about protecting our natural spaces and public access to waterfront areas. The proposal to remove 645 acres from Wasaga Beach Provincial Park and open it for private development is very concerning. Read more

As a person with a Master’s degree in Sustainability Studies and a parent to a young child, I am deeply alarmed and disappointed by the Ontario government’s proposal to remove significant portions of Wasaga Beach Provincial Park from the protection of the Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves A Read more

This should not be sold for development. Our environment is being torn down left right and centre and the “reward” for displacing animals and disrupting ecosystems is beyond not worth it. Please save this area and DO NOT sell to developers. Leave Wasaga as is, so it can be enjoyed AS IS.

Long time resident here. Ensure small businesses have benefits to the economic development opportunities. Beach area one should belong to the town. Beach area two - up for debate. So many shady characters have exploited the town with false promises and insurance scams. Read more

This is a total disgrace to sell this incredible land that every person in Ontario has access to and has had access to for decades. Shame on the government for selling this for more profit and for developers to profit while gouging Canadians. Read more

This is a truly terribly poor, short-sighted, and disrespectful idea. I was so angry when I heard about this. Seems like it’s been tried to be a deal that’s done quietly, which is sneaky and disgusting. Read more

I do not support this proposal. The area of Wasaga Beach should remain a protected provincial park and not be sold off for development.

People come to Wasaga Beach for the beaches. Guess what, no beaches, no tourism. You’ve got to be idiots not to understand that. This is an extremely short-sighted decision. Protect what you’ve got. Natural beauty. It’s rare. Read more

Please do not change the act as it stands. My family does not want Wasaga beach privatized. We love it there and it needs to be kept public. We don’t need a United States type of country where the politicians profit from all the beautiful natural resources we have. Read more

Ontario parkland is critical. There is no room for negotiation on this topic. With the rising threat of climate crisis, and the expansion of urban development we are rapidly losing access to places to connect with nature and teach our children. Read more

I am disappointed in the short-sighted decisions of the provincial government. Wasaga Provincial Park is a major draw to Wasaga Beach. It is the reason many flock there in the summer. Please do not rob future generations the ability to enjoy this park just as it is. Thank you.

I'm very unhappy to learn that you want to cut the Wasaga Beach Provincial Park by 650 acres, including 60% of the beachfront access that is a key habitat and nesting site for the endangered Piping Plover (Charadrius melodus - listed as an endangered species in Canada and the USA). Read more
