We need to preserve wild spaces and care for endangered species. Economic growth cannot and must not be the only factor considered. The remaining natural habitats in Ontario are precious and valuable. Read more

I am opposed to any removals of land from the provincial park at Wasaga Beach. The job of the province is to represent the interests of all Ontarians and to balance the concerns of all citizens against the interests of a single municipal council. Read more

I am appalled to learn that the provincial government is planning to sell off parts of the Wasaga Beach Provincial Park. This is preserved conservation land that it is for all people and animals/wildlife to enjoy and use. Read more

Just because you'd like to bypass necessary measures to protect an endangered species, doesn't make it right. Keep development out of Wasaga beach public provincial park! Read more

We need to protect the endangered species that are left. We need to steward important landscapes and protect them from development. These spaces and organisms have tremendous value that is easy to overlook, especially if we value an undeveloped natural landscape at $0. Read more

Giving up provincial park lands to well-connected developers is just wrong. Save our parks for future generations to enjoy! I support creating a "greenbelt" surrounding all provincial parklands

A key rule of democratic government is that you do NOT privatize pubic property, especially by executive fiat. Doug Ford seems to think that he is King, not premier. Recall the Greenbelt fiasco which has prompted police investigations of wrongdoing. Read more

Do not go forward with your proposals. Habitat destruction is not good development. Public lands and resources should remain public.

Sensitive flora and fauna would lose the essential elements that support them. Piping plovers, for example, are at long last increasing due to the diligence of numerous human volunteers. Read more

The Wasaga Beach Provincial Park is an integral part of our towns culture, tourism, and environment. The beach houses many endangered species like Piping Plover's whose habitat would be lost should the parks act be amended so that the Town can develop. Residents are upset. Read more

I am not in favour of this transfer of land. The maps show that more of the beach front will be transferred than held which make it far less accessible for the public and the local residents. Leave Nancy Island as well. Not every green space and beautiful landscape should be developed. Read more

Hello, I’d like to express my anger about this proposal. As we know, we are not above nature. Climate change is decimating us right now and it’s because of decisions like this. We need to MAINTAIN and PROTECT natural spaces, not sell them for short term economic benefit. Read more

Wasaga Beach Provincial Park is one of the last remaining nesting grounds for the endangered Piping Plover in Ontario. These tiny shorebirds have made a fragile comeback since 2007, thanks to years of careful stewardship and protection. Read more
