Any proposal must protect species that are at risk, including the Piping Plover. Habitat for species must be protected for future generations. This proposal seems short-sighted and not in the interest of protecting biodiversity. I do not agree with the proposal.

I do not support altering these Acts. There is no need to use lands that are designated parkland and conservation areas for increased economic development. There are plenty of lands around Wasaga Beach that are already being developed that can support tourist and economic development. Read more

This is absolutely sickening. Parks need to remain protected space. I vehemently disagree with this proposal and warn the government not to move forward with sales of protected wildlife, conservation, and park lands. Read more

I am so angry that the Ontario government presumes to think that changing the Conservation Act is okay just to make a dollar. This action is an abuse of power and needs to stop. Enough is enough. Leave our protected spaces alone and preserve biodiversity in Ontario. Read more

Taking land from Wasaga Beach Provincial Park for what will be development is not in the best interests of the people of Ontario. There is plenty of other land for development and tourism that we do not need to be taking any from provincial parks. Read more

I oppose the removal of this part of the Wassaga Beach Provincial Park. It puts at risk an endangered species.

We cannot simply remove parts of the provincial parks easily like this, Ontario is already having less and less park spaces due to various commercial activities like this. This would not increase tourism, would only make the space less attractive to tourists over the years. Read more

Premier Ford's government has proposed selling chunks of Wasaga Beach Provincial Park for development. That land includes critical nesting habitat for the Piping Plover, which could be lost forever if this goes through. Read more

Keep your hands off our parks! all of them! Provincial and others. They are important to our health and environment, our wildlife need parks for their survival. So instead of lining your buddies pockets how about conserving our trees, parks and wildlife for a change! Not your rich friends!

I am opposed to the selling off of land from Wasaga Beach Provincial Park. We should not be reducing the amount of protected land and water, we should be increasing it. Read more

I disagree with any plan that erodes our collective investment and support for provincial parks, especially if it impacts species at risk. I believe this government only cares about supporting developers and grabbing lands that should be of use to all people of Ontario.

Please keep Wasaga Beach Park intact. Do NOT remove the protections. Do NOT sell parts of it off for development. We need to protect the endangered Piping Plover and other parts of the beach ecosystem. It is there for all Ontarians to enjoy, not to build luxury cottages for a few rich people.

I am opposed to this proposal, tourism should not be the guiding factor in protecting the environment. There are many active spaces for tourism in Ontario but we only have one chance to protect our environment and the species that live in it. Read more

I do not support this proposed change to the law that will greatly damage and sell off parts of Wasaga to Developers. These protections are vital to our provincial park and the will be tremendously harmful to the endangered species that currently inhabit this land. Read more

Don't put the interests of well-connected, wealthy developers ahead of people, places and wildlife. Wasaga Beach Provincial Park isn’t just a summer destination, it’s one of the last remaining nesting grounds for the endangered Piping Plover in Ontario. Read more
