This is an abhorrent step. Selling off public land will make the province less able to respond to climate change as it release the provinces ability to safeguard these important riparian zones, that are critical for human and ecological health. Privatizing land is NOT the answer. Read more

I honestly feel that the Ontario Government is being so short-sighted with proposals and plans to develop more shoreline along Wasaga Beach and surrounding area. The habitat is critical for the endangered piping plover. This is a reckless act, born out of greed for profit and for developers. Read more

This is all around a bad idea. The town struggles to manage the property it owns now .I am sure the tax payers will be on the hook for expenses to maintain this property something very few of us want.Tax increases should not happen in this current economic situation. Read more

This is an absolutely horrible idea!!! I go to Wasaga Beach to enjoy the beach and the park, not to stare at more condos and McMansions! This move would make me want to spend less time in Wasaga Beach, and wouldn't help the tourism industry there at all. Read more

I live in, and was born and raised in Ontario. So far, I have visited close to half of the Ontario Provincial Parks in my lifetime. They are precious. They are not negotiable. They are to be protected for future generations. Read more

Please don't make any changes that will harm the critically, endangered piping plover nesting on Wasaga Beach.

Provincial parks need to be expanded in size not reduced. Doug must be getting some fat paychecks of his friends who own land developing companies. It seems Doug is no different than Donald Trump

This is a provincial park. Something we need more protection for. Allowing Doug Ford and his government to sell to developers is just another greenbelt fiasko waiting to happen.

Removing land from a protected conservation area is scientifically, environmentally, and economically unsound. Given escalating climate change impacts, including natural disasters, it is irresponsible to remove natural features which protect human infrastructure from storm waves and floods. Read more

This proposal to transfer lands out of the Wasaga provincial park and to the township is a terrible idea. It endangers the piping plovers habitat, which is already at risk. Read more

It is entirely understandable that the Ontario Government wants to develop some of wasaga beach, It would make sense for 5-15 percent of the parkland to go on 100 year leases. However the proposed 60% of the parkland is an asinine proposal that should be rejected outright. Read more

I think removing land from the Wasaga Park is a terrible idea. Plovers nest on the beaches and they're already endangered. Removing land will reduce their habitat even more and should NOT be allowed.

As an avid user of the provincial parks and knowing the joy that comes from that experience, mixed with the struggle to find sites becoming more of an issue every year, I'm terrified at what this change could have on our provincial parks. Read more

I am a Canadian citizen and a resident of Ontario. I do not support this decision, leave provincial parks alone!

Removing 60% of a provincial park (any provincial park for that matter) does not align with the Ford governments messaging of " protecting natural and cultural heritage". It is the complete opposite. This level of severing protected land will have devastating effects to the local ecosystem. Read more

This is a travesty. What next? Stop him before he destroys everything we hold dear. It seems to me that Ford is just a Canadian version of Trump. I'm ashamed that we voted him in. Read more

I’m opposed to this! This is devastating. Ontario is losing its green spaces, for what? Enough is enough. Please stop selling off protected land for development. I am so disgusted by this government. This is not the Canada I grew up in.
