Absolutely disagree with allowing Wasaga township to take over the provincial parks for development. A huge mistake to even consider it. Save our parklands and let them remain provincial. - they belong to the people of Ontario and not future developers

I am completely opposed to the changes to the Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves Act (PPCRA) which would allow the sale of Wasaga Beach Parkland. The proposed sale of Wasaga Beach Park land needs to be abandoned. Read more

I do not like that idea. The town is corrupted and the politicians will turn it into another development of house that no one wants.

Wassaga beach and its municipality have long been a popular destination for Ontarians to enjoy. Ontario place and Trillium Park had been a popular destination for festivals, picnics, and recreation until the province signed a misleading contract with Therme. Read more

I live in Wasaga Beach and my family has had roots here since the 1960s. I am tired of development bringing in an influx of new people. We do not have the necessary infrastructure to support increased tourism or adding new long-term residences. Read more

As a wasaga resident I would hate to see the beautiful waterfront as well as the millions of dollars in tourism go to useless land ownership and buildings that don’t benifit anyone but the rich

Please put the environment first! Once it’s gone it’s gone. The Ontario place lands have been destroyed with every tree removed and a huge car park going in even though right across the street there are the exhibition lands which could allow parking. Read more

Please keep beach area one, 2 and new wasaga beach under the provincial park jurisdiction. We cant trust politicians that change every 4 years. One council approves this and the next council does that. We dont need more development at the waters edge. Read more

The park is important and popular among the ontario of people and is a public good. Reducing its size will be a step backward that can't be undone, this land is for everyone to enjoy and to protect the nature in this area. Leave the park alone, in the intrest of ontarians.

The removal of lands from Wasaga Beach Provincial Park - a location with over 1.3 million annual visitors - is unacceptable. We KNOW that developers are required to make profits, and that they will act in accordance with that and not with the public interest. Read more

As an avid user in Ontario Parks, it is extremely sad to see a proposals that looks to decrease the size of any provincial park. The government that had the foresight to protect these areas have provided the people of Ontario with such a valuable resource. Read more

Wasaga beach is loved by many just the way it is, including endangered birds such as Piping Plovers. Please protect Wasaga beach from development!

By transferring this land to the Town of Wasaga Beach it would cause more development to take place, destroying vital green space. This provincial park currently promotes diverse wildlife, which would be reduced by any development in this area. Read more

Wasaga Beach Provincial Park isn’t just a summer destination, it’s one of the last remaining nesting grounds for the endangered Piping Plover in Ontario. These tiny shorebirds have made a fragile comeback since 2007, thanks to years of careful stewardship and protection. Read more

I strongly oppose this proposal. This park should be protected for recreational uses and the rich biodiversity it holds including several species at risk. Hands off Wasaga !
