These beaches and wetlands are our jewels that Ford and his government are raping and pillaging. We didn't vote for this. Ford tried to present himself as "Captain Canada" all while following the same plans as Trump the felon. Read more

I am a local resident and strongly oppose this proposal. Wasaga Beach Provincial Park is a cherished natural area, and I do not support removing land from provincial protection or selling it to developers. Once this land is gone, we can’t get it back. Read more

This would be a disastrous move on the government ments part. Our mayor is only looking out for his buddies and himself. He has no intention of keeping the beach public nor the parks open to the tourists. Read more

The Provincial parks and beaches in Wasaga Beach should remain under the Province. They need to be protected from big developers taking over our beautiful beaches. Also, the burden of maintaining these beaches should not be put on the shoulders of the taxpayers of Wasaga Beach. Read more

This so disheartening to see. Please do not be so short-sighted. We must protect our crown lands and our wetlands and not parcel them out to the highest bidder. There are incredible species of animals that make this area their home - including a few that are endangered. Read more

Just the thought of anymore of our precious parks and green spaces being sold off to investors for profit makes my skin boil. There is other ways to boost tourism within using the park lands. Please look around and think about our future. Sincerely, concern citizens Read more

What is wrong with our government. Why would you want to destroy protected provincial parks like Wasaga beach to build more stupid condos. We don’t need anymore condos, we need protected spaces to protect habitats, animals, ecosystems. Read more

As a long time resident of Simcoe County and frequent visitor to Wasaga Beach I have many concerns regarding the proposed transfer of lands from the province to the town of Wasaga Beach. Is this a gift or a purchase? Read more

Piping Plovers are an extremely endangered species and need our protection. Parks staff as well as the plover program staff have worked hard for years to preserve these nesting pairs so that the Piping Plover is not extirpated from the province. It would be a shame to undo that. Read more

Please save this area from becoming another portion of Wasaga’s tacky tourist trap that at least used to support local economy but is now gentrified to unrecognizable. The proximity to their town will in itself drive business for any who visit the park. Read more

This is an absolutely abhorrent proposal that will set a dangerous precedent for abrogating provincial park designated land, environmental regulations, and conservation initiatives down the line. Read more

Wasaga Beach is not for sale! Ford needs to stop ruining Ontario! This is not OK and he is out of control! This man only cares about money and profits and doesn’t even think about the future and what kind of impacts these are gonna have on wildlife and our future generations! Read more

This is bad. This should not proceed. Organizations which prioritize wildlife habitats for species such as the piping plovers should maintain the land.

The proposal to remove this land from its protected status to be part of an initiative to promote tourism is very short sighted. Wasaga Beach is the nesting site for an endangered shorebird, the Piping Plover, which is just now, slowly, after many years, starting to return and nest there. Read more
