We value the parks and green space should never be for sale! Profit and greed should not over shadow nature and wild life!

As an Ontario voter and camper and hiker: please please please do not privatize more of our public lands, Premier Ford. Your policies are favouring for profit developers and wealthy tourists and homeowners over everyday Canadians and natural preserved spaces. Read more

I’m writing to express my opposition to the proposed sale and development of public land at Wasaga Beach Provincial Park. Provincial parks are meant to protect nature, support biodiversity, and provide accessible green space for everyone, not to be sold off for private profit. Read more

Wasaga Beach is a provincial park and therefore should belong to everyone. Selling 60% of it is a slap in the face to every Ontarian and it will have disastrous environmental impacts. The Ford Government MUST stop the sale immediately.

What benefit is this proposal to the citizens of Wasaga and the overall people of Ontario? Pull your heads out of the beach sand! Ontario parks are not for dividing up and selling off bit by bit. They are protected lands for a reason. Read more

Public lands including provincial parks such as Wasaga Beach should be protected. They are hugely important for humans, wildlife, and nature at large. Read more

Please do not let this get approved, Wassega beach generates revenue for parks Canada as a whole. We have so little beach from property as it is in this country and privatizing an area of the beach will cause over crowding on the remaining areas. Read more

Selling off public property is a terrible way to raise money and always locally unpopular. Even if it says "Ontario Parks" on the title, you need to be letting the community make the decisions, you are not royalty, you are public servants, start acting like it!

Doug Ford and his government has no right to sell off the Ontario citizens public parks. When does it stop? When there are no more public spaces? What's next...he can't be allowed to cozy up to his rich developers at our expense. It makes him no better than Trump!

I strongly oppose this proposal. Wasaga Beach is an important area that should be maintained as a provincial park, allowing access by the public to the waterfront. It took decades to form this park's boundaries so that everyday people could have access to the natural beauty in Ontario's. Read more

This sounds like a terrible idea - selling off public access beaches so that a few companies can profit and ruin the waterfront. I DO NOT SUPPORT THIS.

This would be such a shame to see any more of the iconic shoreline developed. Preserve the natural beauty!

The issue is whether the Province will support the average/lower-middle class family having the ability to visit Wasaga and nearby beach areas or whether they support the sale leading to those areas becoming affordable only for the wealthier. Read more

You will destroy tourism by raping the beaches for economic gain. Who in hell will want to visit wasaga when the beaches are destroyed. Not to mention the loss of wildlife. Economic crash and ecological distruction does not equal any gains for the towns people or the wildlife population. Read more

I was shocked to learn that this government is proposing to sell key parts of Ontario’s beloved Wasaga Beach Provincial Park) for a development scheme. This area is part of the of the incredible Georgian Bay shoreline lands and a critical habitat of the endangered piping plover. Read more
