I am against this proposed development because of the vital importance it has for all the listed engage species that live there and all the ones we have not seen. Urban development has gotten unchecked and we are making these homes smaller and smaller.

Piping Plover birds are facing innumerable threats, and the tiny patch of habitat at Wasaga beach is the most productive habitat in the province since their return in 2007.

There is concern about how this will effect piping plover habitat and populations. I do not think this is a good idea for long term health of the environment in Wasaga. It will benefit generations to come more if the integrity of the provincial park is preserved.

The proposed land transfer could put Piping Plover, a nationally Endangered species, at great risk. Wasaga Beach is one of the most important sites for this species in Ontario.

Piping Plovers (a nationally Endangered species) have returned to this beach in 2007 after conservation efforts led by the US, and come to rely on its habitat for nesting.

Ludicrous idea that has no place in Ontario. Our parks are designed for everyone to enjoy and were intended to stay that way in perpetuity. They are NOT intended to be sold off for profit so that only a few wealthy individuals can enjoy the beach.

Great Lakes Piping plovers are such a crucial species!! They are highly endangered and their conservation is necessary to prevent their extinction. When acting to conserve piping plover habitat, it creates a ripple effect among other species.

Provincial Parks belong to the people of Ontario and are meant to be protected forever. It is reprehensible that the current government is trying to sell big parts of one of our most popular parks, and make changes to the legislation that protects all of our Provincial Parks.

This proposal is akin to choosing to continue smoking while dying of lung cancer. Why does our government feel the need to sacrifice our province’s future in order to accelerate pollution and ecological destruction in the name of “progress”?
