Yet again, the Ontario government pushes to disregard its natural diversity that it purportedly values so deeply. How exactly can one in good faith advertise a province as one's "to discover" if much worthy of discovery is threatened? Read more

This is a clearly blatant move on the Ford government’s attempt to remove any environmental protections from the surrounding area, something that they’ve attempted to do at every turn. This should not go forward. I’ll be there protesting day one if it does. Read more

This is an absolutely unconscionable move on the Ford government's part and can not be allowed to move forward. Read more

I strongly believe that the Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves Act should NOT be amended to remove portions of Wasaga Beach Provincial Park. It should not be amended or altered in any way that reduces the size or protection of our provincial parks. Read more

Strongly object. Reread your words……Keeping (not a disingenuous use of “restore”) an important heritage site to boost tourism and drive economic growth in Wasaga Beach, while continuing to support the area’s natural and cultural heritage.

I am very against this sale of public lands. These are environmentally sensitive areas that should be protected from development. Stop carving up nature in our province! Leave these lands wild.

I am strongly opposed to the removal of any lands from existing Federal and Provincial parks and other protected lands and habitats such as the green belt. This is a step backwards and a betrayal of future generations. Read more

Piping Plovers are slowly making some gains in their populations in recent years after having lost so many of their previous breeding grounds. Wasaga Beach is one of the very few places they will breed and even their few breeding places require volunteers there to monitor and ensure their survival. Read more

We’re already on the brink of losing so many important species in Canada; let’s not risk the habitat of an already vulnerable species for the “benefit” of the people. We don’t need another example of human selfishness and ignorance being prioritized over important conservation efforts. Read more

As a resident of Ontario, I DO NOT agree with selling of provincial park land to some slimey, rich, and probably foreign developers. You’re taking public space away from residents and tourists to line your own pockets. Disgusting! Read more

A lot of thought and consideration needs to be directed to the Piping Plovers that reside and make their nests at Wasaga beach. This bird disappeared from the beach but returned again after 30 yrs. Funding needs to be continued by the Ontario Government and not the Town of Wasaga. Read more

Don’t sell land for the purpose of revitalization/ redevelopment. We need to protect the land and its species before it is too late.
