I am strongly against this proposal. Wasaga beach should be a public amenity. It should not be sold. The environment impact would be very damaging.

The great thing about the beach is it is our (citizens of Ontario) beach. We don't worry about it being owned by business and then having access removed. We have cheap parking and a lovely place. Once this is sold the population of the province lose ownership forever. Read more

It is critical that Ontario's conservation land be protected and expanded. Removing lands desirable to private businesses from the protection afforded by being a Provincial Park sets a dangerous precedent that could be used to justify encroaching on other protected lands throughout the province. Another example of how environmental rights are being overlooked. The belief that the earth owes rent/money is devastating on legal, environmental, and indigenous fronts. Smarten up.

How very sad , you feel the need to destroy our parks , Americanizing our parks. We did not vote for this. Ford appears to be very disrespectful to our province. He is over spending on scams …Ont place, a tunnel, really and we need to pay with our heart and soul. Read more

I would like to make it clear that I am in opposition to this legislation and the transfer of any provincial park, crown or conservation lands, I do not think other bodies are well positioned to be stewards for these lands and this is a key voting issue for me. Read more

I am writing to express my opposition to the proposed sale and development of public land at Wasaga Beach Provincial Park which is home to a number of endangered species. Provincial Parks are meant to protect nature, support our biodiversity and provide safe, accessible green space for everyone. Read more

Selling off provincial parklands is wrong, and should never be done. The land is public and for the people, for the protection of natural habitats, and wildlife. Not for private development. Find somewhere else for your mansions…

Piping plovers hold a special place in my heart. I urge the government to collaborate with researchers to protect these birds year-round by limiting mechanical raking, preserving dunes, and safeguarding nests with buffer zones and natural predator control. Read more

I would like to emphasize how detrimental this would be to not only Wasaga Beach Provincial Park, but also highlight the effects that this could potentially have on the rest of our protected areas in Ontario. Read more

Unfortunately when money is the end game, the environment always pays. Wasaga is a beautiful, natural, world attraction…but that will all come to an end…’they paved paradise, and put up a parking lot’. Read more

I am concerned that the planned land ownership transfer from Ontario Parks to the Town Of Wasaga Beach will jeopardize the habitat of the Piping Plover, an Endangered Species, that falls within the boundaries of the land in question. Read more

I strongly support the transference of the 640 odd hectares of land back to the Town of Wasaga Beach. The province did bare minimal maintenance of the land.
