I am appalled that the PC govt. is even considering this move to sell off our precious Provincial Park lands. Especially Wasaga Beach! Ontarians have so little public space to swim and enjoy beaches. This idea would appeal to Trump! Read more

Wasaga Beach is Ontario’s largest fresh water beach and the most visited Provincial Park in Ontario. If you drive west/northwest, following along the coast from there, there’s very little public beach/lake access all the way down to Goderich. Read more

When will this government stop giving developers carte blanch, paving over paradise for a few bucks? Shame on you for destroying habitats, species at risk and removing all environmental safeguards. Read more

The proposal to remove a large portion of the beach area from the provincial park is very disturbing. The natural dune features of the beach provide habitat for species that rely on this limited type of ecosystem and provide natural resistance to erosion. Read more

There are so few piping plover nesting pairs left. And they need a large area of untouched land..we cannt touch this area, delevop it or even open it up for more tourism. Please don't treat natural spaces like commodities.

This is a crucial habitat to help continue the Piper Plover recovery program. Developing the parks will absolutely destroy their protected areas which, as cited in the attached article, has shown great success. Read more

As an Ontario resident and an MECP employee, I do not approve of these ammendments. This proposals purposefully vague wording is clear in its intention. To sell off our country's beautiful public land to private investors. I say NO. Read more

This is a shocking development to hear, the discarding of provincial parks cannot be tolerated. Provincial parks are an essential part of tourism in Ontario already, while supporting and protecting our precious ecosystems. Read more

Provincial parks and protected areas are protected for a reason. Wasaga beach is an incredibly important place for species like the plovers, as well as a beautiful natural area to enjoy recreation. Go develop somewhere else. Leave our parks alone.

I highly oppose this bill! The government should not ever sell off Ontario Park Land. The parkland of wasaga is home to rare ecosystems that WILL be destroyed if the land is sold and developed. I am opposed to this bill and my MPP Michael Kerzner should be too! Read more
