I am concerned with the proposal as I am very connected to the provincial parks and I know just how damaging this could be. I do not think it is possible to enhance tourism and also keep protecting the environment. It is not realistic.

Public land is not something we should be getting rid. Especially beautiful beachfront ones that attract locals and tourists alike. This is very remnant of what President Trump is doing in the US and we are not okay with this kind of real estate deal. Read more

Provincial Park land is protected for many reasons. The first that comes to mind is preserving the precious natural ecosystem, including the wetlands we've already almost completely destroyed. Read more

If the provincial park is in need of repair, then the funds that the government gave to the town should have just been given to the park instead. It should not be allowed to transfer parts of PUBLIC provincial parks to anyone. Read more

I highly oppose this proposed bill. Wasaga Beach is one of the few remaining habitats for Piping Plovers, an endangered shore birds. In fact, based on Ontario Nature, Wasaga Beach is the most suitable breeding habitat for Piping Plovers in Ontario. Read more

I want to quickly raise my concerns regarding the government’s desire to privatize our public spaces, parks and conservation areas. This move will rob Ontarians of equal access to some of our most cherished and environmentally fragile areas. This is simply wrong - and you know it. Read more

Natural areas are more valuable than developments. The provincial parks are visited every year by many people and is critical habitat. A place doesn't need to make money to be considered valuable to Ontario people.

I believe that this proposal will be detrimental to the ecosystems within Wasaga Beach Provincial Park. One of the main roles of provincial parks is to protect the ecosystem within it. Read more

The proposed transfer of land at Wasaga Beach from Ontario Parks to the Town of Wasaga Beach puts the piping plover population at risk. Piping Plover's are an already endangered species. This land transfer puts their most important and productive nesting habitat at risk. Read more

Make sure that the piping plovers at Wasaga remain protected! This will be a massive black eye fur Ontario if this goes poorly.
