It is not an undue burden to expect proponents to do their due diligence and reapply for a permit before it expires or when there is a change of ownership any more than it is an undue burden on Ontarians to keep our driver’s licenses valid and up to date. Lire davantage

If we are to survive as a province, water must be a public, not a private, resource. We cannot afford to let this essential resource be sold to individuals who can use it as a bargaining chip or profit-making tool. Lire davantage

This proposal violates Ontario's legal obligation to consult Indigenous Nations where their rights may be impacted. This breach is especially serious because decisions concerning water fall under Indigenous legal jurisdiction. Lire davantage

I have massive concerns about the province of Ontario handing out/selling the province’s water resources. This is one resource we cannot squander!!! Lire davantage

This proposal for "flexibility" is yet another example of the province sacrificing citizens' right to a safe and healthy environment for the benefit of a few profit-takers. You clearly state the most important consideration is that proponents "keep their projects moving" at all costs. Lire davantage

As we look to future water will become more valuable and requires more protection. This proposed change decreases protection. I recommend that government keep the requirements for new water permits and renewal of water permits.

Water should never be commercialized or sold. There is not unlimited abundance—we need to protect our lakes, rivers, streams and springs from companies taking and selling the water. Lire davantage

My concerns are about water taking in the Oro Moraine, specifically Gold Mountain Springs water bottling. Please do not make things easier for giant water suckers like this company. Our aquifers are finite. The glacier left them ten thousand years ago and the two deepest will not renew. Lire davantage

It is appalling the proposed changes to the water permit process. Water is not endesly abundant and an ENVIRONMENTAL review is always needed. Also, other provinces are struggling with water shortages and we do not want to follow suit. Lire davantage

These proposed changes to the water permitting process will: -Strip municipalities of their power to determine what is best for their community; -Violate Indigenous Rights by eliminating consultation with Indigenous Nations; -Allow corporations to buy access to groundwater like real estate; Lire davantage
