I'm ok with the cities managing it, I don't see why the province has to get involved and require a separate public corporation along with allowing the Minister to force cities to do things a certain way. Read more

STOP PRIVATIZING PUBLIC WORKS BUILT WITH TAXPAYER MONEY. This is a terrible idea and a failure of the ontario government by taking public funds and subsidizing private ventures!!!!!!!!! The 407 was a massive debacle we are all paying the price for while Mike Haaris laughs at us. Read more

As a resident of Hamilton, Ontario, I urge the Province to keep water and wastewater systems under full public control, not under the authority of corporate boards as proposed in ERO 025-1098 and Bill 60. Read more

No. That whole bill reminds me of Trump's big beautiful Bill and Ford has hidden all kinds of things in it. He is a crook. I say no to the whole entire bill. Stop meddling in the Affairs of municipalities.

downloading water and waste water is foolish! This will cost the tax payer more money in the long run! Look at hydro! the rates keep going up and up, there is no responsibility to the tax payer. Right now the REgion of Peel has the most reasonable rates for water in Ontario! Read more

I don't understand why Doug Ford feels he needs to continually propose changes to the Region of Peel without first having some understanding regarding the impacts that could potentially arise i.e. tax increases, water/wastewater billing increases etc. Read more

The provincial government is aware that Peel water and wastewater is a successfully run utility that current has one of the lowest utility rates in Ontario. This will increase substantially if the province takes over and specifically starts adding private ownership/partnerships. Read more

I don't understand the need to create another government agency to take over water/wastewater when it is working well with the Region. It means creating a duplicate hierarchy, which is a duplication of services. The lower tiers are still contributing so why is it different than now? Read more

I will like to see a breakdown with data that explains how this transfer of services will lower my taxes as a resident of Mississauga. An analysis of how this transfer is a better use of tax dollars compared to status quo will also be helpful.

I oppose transferring jurisdiction of water and wastewater to the lower tier municipalities in Peel. Peel does a good job on ensuring our water safety. I feel that the current PC government is gutting Peel region’s services as an alternative to disbanding Peel Region and that is not acceptable. Read more
