As a Natural Resources Management student, I support modernization of conservation system when it improves efficiency, but I am concerned that consolidation may reduce ecological effectiveness. Watersheds functions as natural ecological units and management must remain region specific. Read more

The consolidation into seven regional conservation authorities as it can improve approval process and lessens administrative process. But community input about any project concerns shouldn't be ignored due to this consolidation process.

I live in Sault Ste. Marie, sitting on Lake Superior and the St Mary’s river, which flows down into Lake Huron. The idea that our conservation authority will be lumped in with Sudbury and overseen by that office is absurd. Read more
