This proposal is unnecessary, costly, and irresponsible. Adding yet another level of administration and bureaucracy will increase expenses for taxpayers while extending wait times for essential services. Read more

I think all the Conservation areas work with the same rules and regulation, but independently. ERCA has their hands full dealing with one district and they are so familiar with ours. There is also the costs involved combining these areas. I vote against the new plan. Read more

I strongly disagree with this proposal, particularly as it affects my local Conservation Authority, the Lakehead Region Conservation Authority. Pairing it with another at a far remove makes no sense. Perhaps a different issue in Southern Ontario, where there are many and they are closer together. Read more

I highly oppose the consolidation and path forward for conservation authorities that the Ontario government is proposing. This government has continually shown its disregard for the protection or the environment. Read more

I have reviewed the given proposal. The proposal to unite 36 conservation authorities in Ontario into 7 regional authorities has a number of practical advantages. It can build technical strength, establish a steadier permitting process, and cut down on overlapping work in municipalities. Read more

I support efforts to improve coordination among Ontario’s conservation authorities, but consolidation mustn't weaken watershed-based decision-making or reduce local environmental expertise. Read more

I'm very worried about the proposed amalgamation of the 36 Conservation Authorities into 7 Regional CAs. This goes against everything I've learned about government and communities working together to build local trust and partnerships. Read more

It is clear that Doug Ford is making decisions that he is totally unqualified to make, to the detriment of our entire province. Please make decisions supported by SCIENCE-BASED EVIDENCE. Not an individuals opinion, and not to the benefit of a few private individuals. Read more

This proposal states that these changes are to improve the conservation authority (CA) system to free up resources for front-line service delivery to help protect communities and better align the work of CAs with provincial priorities by reducing the number of CA’s from 36 to 7! Read more

The proposed amalgamation of 31 conservation authorities into just seven is enormously misguided. These individual entities have the knowledge and expertise that is indispensable to properly manage their local areas. Read more
