Re ERO #025-1257: As a resident of rural Dundas, and an annual pass-holder of the Hamilton Conservation Area, I strongly agree with HCA’s submission to the ERO. I believe that it is important to maintain the status quo of decision-making by HCA. Read more

I do not agree with the proposed consolidation of conservation authorities. As it stands, each CA is using science based expertise and knowledge that is tailored to the local community and watershed. Read more

Please do not amalgamate these conservation authorities. Large groupings rarely truly represent the local views and local knowledge on environmental issues is vital to correctly maintaining specific regions.

I am vehemently opposed to this amalgamation. The provincial government has already degraded so many environmental regulations its appalling. amalgamating the conservation authorities will take away the local knowledge of the area and many of the projects that they do will be cut. Read more

The LRCA simply cannot continue to serve Thunder Bay and the Lakehead Region if amalgamated into a South based district. It is shameful that this was even a consideration - let alone a decision. Please give us the power to do what’s right for district and keep the LRCA home in Thunder Bay.

This will be a bad mistake. One look at the map and the areas being joined together have nothing in common. This will be a disaster in the making that will cost a lot of money in the future. The local areas know the area they are in. Read more
