Please stop this bill. I am so tired of this government pushing false information. You are not protecting our environment, you are not saving the taxpayers any money. Enough is enough! Hands off our conservation authorities!

I agree with Hamilton Conservation Authority's submission to the ERO (#025-1257). I am very concerned about losing local decision-making in our watershed and I support keeping conservation decisions rooted in our community. Read more

This is a bad idea. Provide a way for organizations to deliver in a more consistent manner but consolidating 30+ organizations down to 7 will lose too much local knowledge which is actually really important to conservation!

I - and most of my neighbours here - am opposed to the plan to merge conservation authorities into massive regional bodies, including the Sault Ste. Marie Conservation Authority being revised into a massive Northeastern authority. Read more

It is a bad idea to consolidate this many agencies. Each separate office deals with extremely localized issues, and grouping them together under a large umbrella will mean less focused work on extremely important environmental areas.

I do not support the proposed merger and creation of the Ontario Provincial Conservation Agency. The proposed merger will take local decision-making out of the hands of people who work directly with these areas. Read more

The conservation authorities need to remain local. The habitats and environments are unique to each area. For example, Scugog Lake is unique and the concerns and needs of this area will not be met by a consolidation of conservation authorities. Read more

As an avid user of land managed under local conservation authority i strongly oppose consolidation of the various conservation authorities. It goes against common sense to believe that areas within the GTA and those in rural areas face the same challenges. Read more

Conservation Authorities should be left alone to do their work. The government should not intervene. Each area is unique and has unique and individual problems to address. They provide "boots on the ground" work and are the most familiar with their jurisdiction. Read more

You can't tell me that adding another layer of government oversight will make conservation authorities more efficient. It's been a constant onslaught from the Ford government of weakening any environmental protections, and this is no different. Leave the conservation authorities alone.

The Lakehead Region Conservation Authority which oversees the northwestern region in Ontario understands the region and has served it well should remain independent and not be placed under the umbrella of the Huron Region Conservation Authority which is in a completely different part of the province Read more

I am writing to express concern regarding proposals to consolidate conservation authorities across Ontario. Conservation authorities provide locally tailored environmental management, watershed protection, and flood prevention programs. Read more

Localized, watershed-based management is critical for flood prevention, erosion mitigation, and managing natural resources. The goals the provincial government aims to achieve can be reached without consolidation. Read more

I strongly oppose the proposal to amalgamate conservation areas across the province. The Sault Ste. Marie conservation Authority is integral to preserving our natural habitat and the trails, especially those up in the Hiawatha area. Read more

I do not believe the proposed changes to Conservation Authorities in Ontario are positive in nature or representative of any improvement to the current organization of Conservation Authorities. 1) Proposed conservation regions are excessively large. Read more
