I totally disagree with the "amalgamation" of the conservation authorities. There are very distinct differences among the areas to be included in the large swath that is to become the new Western Lake Ontario RCA. Local voices will not be heard! Read more

I am very disappointed with the plan to amalgamate conservation authorities. It is not well thought out, putting urban and rural areas with very different priorities together. I fear for the ramifications regarding wetlands and source water protection. Read more

First I applaud the efforts to streamline systems - one membership card, one computer system, one board, are all sure to save money. But one giant conservation authority to cover all of southern Ontario and south-western Ontario is just too difficult to manage. Read more

I'm concerned about this proposal. I think there are better ways to achieve the same goals without losing local control. I'm worried about development being pushed through with less oversight and more environmental risk, especially with the ESA changes. Not a fan.

I am opposed to the amalgamation of Conservation Authorities. Like many municipalities and the Conservation Authorities I understand the need for local control of these key environmental areas. Politics should not be part of the running of important public assets. Read more

Although the consolidation of conservation can create better management we’ve unfortunately seen in Ontario those with the authority to remove safeguards for political and profit reasons are very quick to do so. Read more

The event that triggered the creation of Conservation Authorities took place the year that I was born. Events including floods, severe storms, and other disasters are happening more frequently. Land that provides habitat for many species including species at risk is at the same time under threat. Read more

I do not want the government to go ahead with their plan to redo the boundaries and feel that so much damage will be done that it will be near impossible to recover from such a change. I call on Vic Fedeli to listen to his constituents and vote NO. Read more

I think the provincial government is over extending their appropriate powers by overriding GRCA proposals and input. It should be up to the GRCA to decide. The government just wants too much control over everything enabling them to override important issues of land useage.

This is a terrible idea. You already have experts who are familiar with their areas. Why in the world would you ever want to dismantle a system that works and has taken care of warning us about local issues. The environmental issues in one area are not the same in another area. Read more

While I understand that not all lakes can be shown on the map, I do not understand why Lake Simcoe is absent from the map as it is a large large ( larger than lake couching shown) and has significant watershed. Read more

I strongly disagree with the proposal to consolidate Ontario's Conservation Authorities into 7 large regional authorities. As a homeowner within Ontario, I deeply understand and appreciate the work that CAs complete, both by requirement (the Conservation Act) and by commitment to the environment. Read more

I live in Middlesex County, its extremely important to me and many of my neighbours that the local watershed, mill pond, and Dorchester swamp stay protected and maintained by the Upper Thames Conservation. Please do not move forward with this plan. Read more
