Please do not go forward with Bill 5 as the repercussions will be devastating to our wildlife. Developers do not need less hoops to jump through, our species at risk are already suffering. Read more

As a grassroots, environmental activist and Indigenous ally, I strongly oppose this legislation and I'm appalled that a Government of Ontario, supposedly acting in the best interests of its constituents, would suggest that Bill 5 is the best way to protect Ontario’s economy. Read more

Ontario's conservation policies are already shamefully inadequate. Weakening them even further is a clear step in the wrong direction that does not serve the best interests of Ontarians or the Indigenous people that share this place. Read more

Please do not do this. Canada has suffered enough in the last 9 years. With population increasing, our environment is already being affected. Canadian wildlife is unique and delicate. You will regret this. Read more

I fully oppose the repealing of the ESA and any amendments laid out in Bill 5. The Bill systematically defunds and undermines both of the spirit and the letter of environmental protection regulations. Read more

I highly disagree with the proposed changes. The red tape is meant to protect us and ontario's future. Red tape only hinders businesses because they want to exploit the land and it's resources. We do not benefit from the changes, only businesses will profit. Read more

I do not agree with this bill. It will endanger the future of already endangered species. On the short term, it might provide slight economic benefits but I guarantee you that the long term detrimental consequences would largely trump the minimal economic relief. Read more

This is absolutely unacceptable. Biodiversity is not something that we can ever reclaim once lost. Ontario's environmental protections are insufficient as it is. This is nothing but a naked bid for Ford to help his developer friends.

I am strongly against these proposed changes and the replacement of the species at risk act with much weaker legislation, allowing developers and industries to become even richer by removing due process and protection of wildlife and the environment. Read more

Perhaps Ford should concentrate on improving life for Ontarians and residents of the Province, including the Provincial responsibilities of housing, education, and healthcare that his successive premierships have so thoroughly wrecked. Start fixing instead of finding more things to screw up.

As a tax-paying Ontario resident, outdoor enthusiast, mother , and educator I strongly oppose the proposed amendments to the Endangered Species Act. The existing legislation is already sufficient and science-based. Read more

These amendments pose a significant threat to the ecological health and biodiversity of our province. Weakening protections for wetlands, woodlands, and other natural features—particularly by shifting to a more discretionary, streamlined evaluation process—will open the door to irreversible damage.
