While it is unfortunate for some that environmental law causes delays in business and development, the fact is that those laws exist to ensure that biodiversity and environment, which is not economically profitable to big business and government, is given precedence over short term, typically privat Read more

I am asking, pleading with you to reconsider the proposed changes to the Endangered Species Act. This is an ill thought out plan in the name of economic progress. Leave the protections in place for our endangered species for the benefit of today’s population and future populations to come. Read more

The proposed changes to the Endangered Species Act and proposed Species Conservation Act show very little concern for the actual conservation of species, and instead demonstrate a bias towards economic development. Read more

This new legislation will not adequately protect at risk species in Ontario, because it does not adequately protect their habitats. Habitat destruction is a leading cause if species decline and extirpations/extinctions globally. Read more

Please reconsider this short-sighted, non-scientific, detrimental act. The future of our children and grandchildren is in your hands, and it is your responsibility to make sure that the legacy we leave is one of respect for all living things.

I'm very concerned and DO NOT support BILL 5 - Species Conservation Act 2025. We have a responsibility as citizens of Ontario to speak up and be a defense against further attacks on our already fragile eco systems (wetlands) and to protect our biodiversity. Read more
