Please don’t change this in a way that allows for even more habitat to be put at risk. Please don’t change this so that making a profit on land becomes easier. Thanks Graham Read more

This is a significant step backwards for conservation in Ontario. The change would end provincial legal habitat protection for endangered and threatened birds as the proposed new Species Conservation Act will only provide protection for the “dwelling place” or nest. Read more

The current protections in place for habitat exist for a reason, and the definition is really not that confusing. Every species has different habitat requirements that fit together like a puzzle piece to give us an idea of what the species needs to survive. Read more

The following statement in the proposal “ species protection and conservation while taking into account social and economic considerations, including the need for sustainable economic growth in Ontario” is not an acceptable tradeoff in that the social and economic considerations are not defined and Read more

We must save and protect all endangered species of birds! Please do NOT take away the endangered species act. What kind of world do we want to live in? One that cares for all living creatures or one that cares only for greedy capitalism with no thought given to the environment. Please!!! Read more

I care deeply about our birds and wildlife. Jeopardizing their future by removing their protection status is a backwards move and not something that will benefit our land, ecosystems, and then ultimately our county and its citizens in future generations to come. I do not support these motions.

This is very non-Canadian in approach and sounds like red-tape cutting to benefit only Doug Ford and his associates-not Ontario. This is an abuse of power by the Premiere of Ontario yet again. (green belt)

I oppose Bill 5. It guts protections, ignores science, and tramples Indigenous rights. Scrap it. We deserve to have healthy, stable eco systems in this province, and Doug Ford and his buddies should never be allowed to take those things away from us. Read more

Preserving endangered birds, or any bird, requires more than just the nesting site and areas in close proximity. Please write legislation that expands habitat protection, rather than reducing it.
