We have expanded the boundaries of 26 protected areas (13 provincial parks and 13 conservation reserves) and created 12 new protected areas ( 2 provincial parks and 10 conservation reserves). These changes provide increased opportunities for recreational activities and contribute to the long-term sustainability of Ontario’s natural heritage.
The government has revoked the five Minister’s Zoning Orders associated with the Parkway Belt West Plan, 1978, effective July 1, 2026, and included deeming provisions.
