E need to protect our wildlife Tgey are at a disadvantage. We tear down their homes and encroach on their habitat. Baiting is not fair and a terrible practice. We are heading for disaster as a human species. Cruel and unkind is not the kind of legacy I want to leave behind. Lire davantage

I object to this proposed change. The wilderness of Ontario is used by many who prefer not to cause damage. The bears are not dangerous, but hiking and doing other recreational activities near where bear hunting happens is dangerous. Please reject this change.

What is the real point of this reduction? To make it easier for hunters? It certainly isn't to encourage the recreational user of trails and rights of way. What about those of us who use the trails who don't want to be exposed to any bait which is likely to bring bears in closer? Lire davantage

The reduction from 200 to 30 meters for bait placement for black bear hunting is good. It will increase safety to have our hunters be able to come out from their stands in the evening, at dark, with an unloaded gun over less distance. Lire davantage

I would like to see the 200 meters reduced to 30 meters. This was never a problem before and should be reduced as there was no reason for the 200 meters. Lucas Adams Gateway North Outfitters

Hunters are CREATING problem bears !!!! Bears have an extremely sensitive sense of smell - it is said that they can smell carcasses from as much as 20 km./32 miles away !! Lire davantage

This seems completely unreasonable and unfair. These bears are a beautiful species and we need to keep them safe. We should not ‘bait’ bears and then kill them. Lire davantage

This is a great way for people who are enjoying the outdoors on recreational trails to get shot and killed by more hunting "accidents".

Firstly, I am against killing bears in the first place. However, if there needs to be a bear hunt, do not change the distance for lazy killers. Give the animals a chance and give hikers and others a safe distance from high powered rifles. How about we hunt the hunters? See how they feel.

Eliminate all bear baiting and hunting of bears. I vote for increasing where bait can be set beside trails. The closer the bait to the trail the greater the danger of human bear fatal interactions. I also there should be mandatory signage so people can avoid the area

First off I think bear hunting should be stopped altogether. Hunters always take the healthiest animal they can find unlike natural predators. This in no way is good natural resource management. Lire davantage

This rule should be abolish, the restrictions do to business are getting absurd. We have a million acres of Bear management area, and we can only harvest 13 bears, how ridiculous is that. Thank you

This proposal is ridiculous. I have already been almost shot by bear hunters while walking on maintained trails. I have encountered bears on public trails that are there only because someone is baiting them. Lire davantage
