I am glad to see the removal of OPAC. It's function was to put a social aspect to a scientific matter. Unfortunately that committee lead to an undue hardship to Ontario farmers as they were not allowed access to active ingredients that farmers in other jurisdictions were allowed to use. It is good to see these changes. This will definitely speed the process up but as a farmer that has taken the Ontario pesticide course since they started I have concerns. Most farmers and instructors have agreed with me that the course basics since it began have not changed. Lire davantage

I would hope in these amendments there is NO loosening of the current rules on pesticide use. We can't afford to take a step backward! Our environment has suffered far more than we should ever have allowed.

I do believe in continuing education, however I have a problem with re writing the exam every 5 years. If someone has had limited time to study because of family or personal reasons and they fail the exam then they are potentially out of a job and sometimes they are the only income for the family.
