It is quite appalling that in this day and age of Global Warming we are not taking better care of our green areas and our environment. This proposal would impact our greenland and all for the benefit of Doug Ford’s donors. Lire davantage

I strongly oppose the lands that are proposed to be removed from the Greenbelt in the City of Pickering. Removing this protected countryside totally defeats the purpose of the greenbelt legislation, and the surround road network is not suitable for any future proposed developments.

Trading any lane in the Oak Ridges moraine for more suburban sprawl is such a mistake. The ecosystem of the moraine is so fragile and important and must be protected. This chipping away at it is going to affect the ecosystem throughout Ontario and it’s shameful this government is trying to do this.

Hi, We have severe housing crises, we should remove big portion of the greenbelt to build affordable homes sold to first time home buyers families only (Not investors or speculators) at cost with waived fees to make it as affordable as possible, 50,000 homes is not enough Lire davantage

I would like the Ford government to explain how in the 21st century climate change affecting all communities across our country and the planet they can carry on with no regard for our Natural landscapes Lire davantage

This proposal is extremely short sighted, and Ontario citizens are getting tired of this Ford government’s questionable moves to develop things. MZO’s, tricks to bypass EA’s, the list goes on. It’s getting ridiculous. Lire davantage

The Greenbelt is sacred. This is clear corruption by Ford. Corruption and Greed. This isn't about housing this is about profit for developers. This is the most sinister yet predictable move yet by this government. Evil greed. It's absolutely disgusting. Lire davantage

I have read the proposed Greenbelt amendments with dismay and ask for the government to reconsider the plans to remove a significant amount of greenbelt area from the province in the name of creating more urban and suburban residential sprawl. Lire davantage

*NO!* This is short term, self-interested, backwards thinking. We need to protect our precious contiguous greenspace and environmentally sensitive lands. The reality is 50,000 houses isn't going to solve the housing crisis, but WILL irreversably degrade our environment. Lire davantage

Ignoring that Ford backtracked on a promise, ignoring that this sets precedents for other developments, this is major back step in protection of Ontario’s environment, its species, its watershed, its water quality. We should be adding more land WITHOUT removing any. Lire davantage

Don't do this. The Greenbelt is protecting some of our most sensitive natural areas. This would be a shortsighted and idiotic thing to do decades ago, but with the overwhelming evidence now of the climate crisis we are in the middle of, this amendment would be willingly negligent. Lire davantage

As a constituent in Ontario, I think it is appalling that we are willing to sacrifice what is legislated as protected and environmentally sensitive land. Sacrificing the environment is not a solution to building homes. Lire davantage

The proposed amendments to allow for the swapping out of land in the Greenbelt would cause irreparable harm to the environment. The removal of currently protected natural areas will have disastrous consequences for which the addition of new areas will be of little or no comfort. Lire davantage
