These MZOs represent a profound override of local democracy despite Oakville’s full compliance with provincial policies and proven track record of growth and housing development. Lire davantage

The province is ruining Oakville. Please stop ruining a town that was once so beautiful and not so dense. Lire davantage

This Transit-Oriented Community (TOC) fails to comply with Premier Ford’s Build Homes Faster agenda and will not deliver a single home before 2031, the Province’s own housing deadline, and will take 25 years to complete. OPA70 is a better alternative and is ready to go. Lire davantage

I have lived here since 1973 and have seen the changes in the town….and the increase in population. There is enough congestion in the area and to increase the population would not be good. I would not vote for any large buildings….and the change it will bring. Thank you. Lire davantage

The proposed Minister’s Zoning Orders (MZOs) for Midtown Oakville blatantly fail to meet the Ontario government’s own post criteria for issuing MZOs. Lire davantage

I live in the vicinity of the lands subject to this proposal. Like many of my neighbours, I am totally opposed primarily for three reasons: 1. Traffic in the area is already severely congested at peak hours. The scale of this proposed development will create gridlock and be unbearable. Lire davantage

These MZOs would force extreme and reckless density on Midtown, more than double that of any comparable development in the GTA, without the infrastructure to support it; creating chaos and overwhelming transportation and services that are already overstressed, including local roads, transit, the GO Lire davantage

Automotive infrastructure (QEW) throughout Oakville Burlington is already over crowded. Trafalgar Road is overcrowded. People use trains yes but all their stuff comes by trucks and cars. Why do you want to ruin the best city in Canada?? Lire davantage

Bottom Line: Oakville has a plan and the mega concentration and heights being proposed are totally unacceptable. This project needs to be super scaled back and should comply with the plan Oakville already has in place. This almost appears to be mandated by Donald J. Trump. Lire davantage

Oakville already has a responsible, Council-approved plan for Midtown — OPA 70 — that supports growth while respecting infrastructure limits and livability. These MZOs are unnecessary and risk undermining that plan. I disagree with the MZOs Lire davantage

This TOC is not about delivering housing; it is about maximizing developer land value at the expense of livability, infrastructure capacity, and the public interest. Lire davantage
