These MZOs represent a profound override of local democracy despite Oakville’s full compliance with provincial policies and proven track record of growth and housing development. Lire davantage

The TOC fails to comply with Premier Ford’s Build Homes Faster agenda and will not deliver a single home before 2031, the Province’s own housing deadline, and will take 25 years to complete. OPA70 is a better alternative and is ready to go. Lire davantage

Long term Oakville resident who can see that this project would impact Oakville traffic even more so than it is now. Traffic would overload our streets. Oakville is a small town with a small town vibe. Let's keep the unique vibe that is Oakville. Mississauga is a larger area and city. Lire davantage

I can understand that we need housing. But flooding a small town with mega structure will be a problem. I realize having housing near the transit hub is a good idea 33% of the day, but the amount of traffic congestion will be a tragedy the other 67% of the day. Lire davantage

Hello, The density proposed by the government is not going to work currently or in the future, upon the anticipated completion as outlined - more careful details MUST be added BEFORE moving further. Lire davantage

The economic and viability case for these MZOs and this project has collapsed. The condominium market has both collapsed and shifted, with the market no longer supporting high rise projects dominated by studios and one-bedroom units, which is the configuration this TOC proposes. Lire davantage

I have been working with the town on the Midtown Lands for years now. They have been very active to make sure what is proposed makes sense for all residents and participants, now and into the future. Many many experienced and knowledgeable people have worked on it. Many hours spent. Lire davantage

The proposed Minister’s Zoning Orders (MZOs) for Midtown Oakville blatantly fail to meet the Ontario government’s own post criteria for issuing MZOs. Lire davantage

My comments are regarding the MZO's for the Transit-Oriented Community in the Town of Oakville: I would ask that close attention be paid to the density proposed and the effects that it will have on an already congested area. Lire davantage

This proposal and approach to planning is completely illogical. There is no benefit to current residents or to those who would occupy these buildings. Lire davantage

NoNoNo!!! Our traffic is already unbearable!! We moved to Oakville for the small town feel and you are trying to ruin it!! So many of our friends and neighbors have left because of poor governance and now to propose a crazy density project that no one agrees with except those making MORE money. Lire davantage

I am a long time resident of Oakville (60 years). It is one thing to have an orderly increase in population and density, but in recent years the quality of life and character of what perhaps laughably is still the "Town of Oakville" has changed considerably for the worse. Lire davantage

Local planning decisions should be respected. They are based on an in-depth knowledge of community needs, norms and infrastructure. They should NOT be overturned by provincial edicts.
