These MZOs would force extreme and reckless density on Midtown, more than double that of any comparable development in the GTA, without the infrastructure to support it; creating chaos and overwhelming transportation and services that are already overstressed, including local roads, transit, the GO Lire davantage

By all appearances, the use of Ministry Zoning Orders as a juggernaut to force top-down changes on the town of Oakville is abuse of process. It is short-sighted thinking which ignores the real impact the sudden density imposed on midtown Oakville will impose on the citizens of the town. Lire davantage

The proposed Minister’s Zoning Orders (MZOs) for Midtown Oakville blatantly fail to meet the Ontario government’s own post criteria for issuing MZOs. Lire davantage

The high density suggested will make it almost impossible for people in the area to be able to move around on the roads that presently exist. Trafalgar road and the QEW are already a nightmare. People do not walk or ride bikes as their main means of transport for most of the year. Lire davantage

This Transit-Oriented Community (TOC) fails to comply with Premier Ford’s Build Homes Faster agenda and will not deliver a single home before 2031, the Province’s own housing deadline, and will take 25 years to complete. OPA70 is a better alternative and is ready to go. Lire davantage

This is unacceptable. Oakville has a better plan that accomplishes increased acceptable density in the mass transit corridor. Let the Oakville Councillors decide on a reasonable approach to achieve your goals.

We bought in Oakville for the specific reason of the kind of community it is, and the lower density planning. This plan not only takes away the reason we invested in our community, but also affects our property values as this shifts away from the historical reason people look to Oakville. Lire davantage
