I cannot believe we are having to discuss the problems associated with the environment the increased footprint size of garden suites cause. I live in Long Branch south of Lakeshore and have lived there for 35 years. Lire davantage

The challenges resulting from the construction and renovation of larger and larger homes in the City of Toronto, at a time when the planet is warming includes a growing use of larger and larger air conditioning equipment. As a result Amendment 299/19 ARU needs to be improved to meet the challenges. Lire davantage

It’s very important for Toronto , to have land trees and bushes for absorption of the water, last September we had a mayor flooding in south Etobicoke and Burlington, it was no enough soil around the house to absorb th e amount of water, if we allow to build without parameters the infrastructure wil Lire davantage

I just found out about this proposal today. From a provincial stand point the province should be setting policy and letting planners of local municipalities plan. The adding of two new suites on a property does not help to plan for transportation, recreation let alone parking. Lire davantage

The proposal is irrational, overreaching and disconnected from realities on the ground about which municipal governments know best. Lire davantage

I object to the modifications to this policy and their impact on local planning. The proposed revisions undermine recent changes made by Toronto's Expanding Housing Options in Neighbourhoods initiative and lack sufficient public consultation. Lire davantage

Greater clarity required. Does the 45 percent lot coverage overrule by laws which try to impose any maximum aru size requirements. I.e no maximum size or 30 percent of the GFA building can be Aru. Etc.

These proposed amendments do not take into account requirements for soft landscaping and trees - let alone existing mature trees. Lire davantage

Municipalities including Toronto changed their by-laws to encourage Additional Dwelling Units and have seen far fewer units built than anticipated, as it just isn't financial viable. Lire davantage

As a Landscape Architect, I have major concerns with the "by rights" ability to cover 45% of lot area as the increase in hard surfaces and roofs gives rainwater nowhere to go except into overwhemed STM systems. Lire davantage

Please do not make it easier for developers to destroy natural areas. Instead, mandate additional units are built in a way that maximizes space but minimizes loss of greenspace and wetlands.
