This is a terrible idea. All around the world bike lanes are proving to be an effective way of reducing traffic congestion. Every person in a bike lane is likely someone who would otherwise be driving, a bike takes up way less space on the road than a car. Lire davantage

This is absolutely ridiculous. Bicycles should only be allowed in recreational areas or maybe a designated area downtown. This is a country that has long winters and cars are necessary especially with the ridiculous useless public transportation. Lire davantage

This bill is transparently a piece of political theatre without policy merit and would directly result in more serious injuries and deaths. Lire davantage

Bill 212 is a direct attack on the personal safety of cyclists, since our safety will clearly count for less than the convenience of drivers who consider it their right to move swiftly through busy places. At a time when pedestrian and cyclist deaths are going up rapidly, this is unconscionable. Lire davantage

This is absolutely insane. I have never heard of a more ridiculous and misleading act from the Government of Ontario. Bike lanes must have a place in the infrastructure plans of any municipality. Lire davantage

The province should NOT control municipal infrastructure. Cities/municipalities should continue to control and develop their infrastructure according to their unique requirements. Lire davantage

The traffic on Young Street north of Roxborough all the way to Saint Clair is absolutely dreadful. Even a casual observer would believe it’s because of the bike lanes. Lire davantage

Please don't rip out the bike lanes they save lives and reduce traffic. The only way to reduce traffic is to provide alternate means of transport that don't require a car. This is a terrible idea to remove the bike lanes.

The proposal to remove existing bike lanes from Toronto streets actively endangers the lives of those in the city who use them to get around, including me and my teenage children. Lire davantage

The Bill being proposed is nothing but a bit of short-sighted, wasteful, elitist grandstanding. Drivers and cyclists alike benefit from the availability of bike lanes. Lire davantage

Bill 212 should never have been proposed. This is an overreach of jurisdiction. Bike lanes and all matters under the municipal responsibility should not face provincial interference. Lire davantage

This is a horrible idea. The PC Government of Ontario is ignoring the data that many large metropolitan cities like Toronto have already produced that bike lanes do not cause grid lock. Lire davantage

I vehimently oppose this idea. Please do not adopt this! It is diametrically opposed to everything we should be doing in this province at this point in history. Frankly, I'm shocked and disappointed that it was even incepted by a public official.

This bill is contrary to the interests of Ontarians. The purpose of government is to protect public goods, like the environment, our communities, and families and individuals who are unable to fend for themselves. Why would we remove the requirement for environmental assessment for 413? Lire davantage

This bill is a gross abuse of legislative power in ignoring environmental regulations for the construction of highway 413. The precedent this sets is troubling for the long term strength of Ontario's legal structure and law. Lire davantage

The city should have autonomy to decide what is best to balance cyclist safety with motorist mobility. The proposed plan will result in less evidence-based decision-making and decrease public safety, specifically leading to more cyclist injuries and deaths. Lire davantage

I am beyond devastated to learn about this act and, more specifically, that the bike lanes on University, Bloor, and Yonge are being targeted. This feels like a tremendous waste of taxpayer dollars and like going back in time. Lire davantage
