I do not support the Economic Zones Act as it removes all ACCOUNTABILITY by the province and it is turning good farm land and natural areas into industrial sites with absolutley no oversite. Lire davantage

If “Special Economic Zones Act, 2025” is passed it could let hand-picked corporations ignore ANY law — including environmental rules, safety standards, and local planning bylaws. That is not acceptable in a democracy. Lire davantage

 If our current laws surrounding Ontario’s ability to grow economically are detrimental to Ontario's future, we should change them. But we should change them for all  projects, not just certain projects deemed  special economic zones. Lire davantage

I am against this proposal. There is NO good reason any project should be exempted from any provincial or municipal law. Laws exist for a reason and need to be followed to make sure a project does not create undue damage and cost to taxpayers and the environment. Lire davantage

I am deeply disturbed by Bill 5: both the gutting of the endangered species act rendering it toothless and the extravagant discretionary powers granted to the executive to create "special economic zones" - a provision that undermines our deep constitutional value of the rule of the law.
