Since this new point system started 4 years ago. I haven’t been able to hunt moose? Very, very frustrating.Natives should be included in this system to help bring back the moose population. They don’t seem to have a limit on how many moose they can shoot. Read more

I agree with the proposed adjustments to the points based moose tag allocation process. If we want to get more tags in the hands in moose hunters we need to encourage moose hunters to claim their tags in the second chance draw. Read more

I strongly believe that we in Ontario should NOT be hunting Cows and/Or Cow Calves similar to the model in BC By October the few calves that have survived predators need to be left to try and survive the winter with their Mother’s protection and guidance Read more

Since the new system is not group based, I find it unfair to remove all your point if you are successful in the second group. If you have 2 people with 6 point and it comes down to a draw, because there is no guarantee size you don't know which one would get the tag. Read more

Ontario is totally mismanaging moose. It needs to test its harvest guidelines through adaptive management. It needs realistic harvest planning. When the harvest cannot be attained, something is seriously wrong. It needs a harvest control tool that ensures planned harvest is not exceeded. Read more

I think this is a good idea. As long as this gives hunters time to plan vacation so, maybe move the process earlier again. To find out you would have a tag a week before the first season opens may be difficult for some to actually use the tag.

I LIKE THE CHANGES TO YOUR NEW PROPOSAL AS IT WOULD ALLOW ME TO GET A TAG ON THE LAST CHANCE ALLOCATION STEP. AS AN AGED HUNTER I ONLY HAVE HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO ACQUIRE A CALF TAG WITH ONLY HAVING ONE POINT. IT WOULD GIVE ME THE OPPORTUNITY TO OBTAIN A RANDOM ALLOCATED TAG. Read more

This proposal makes no sense at all. Putting more tags in the hands of hunters will only increase the number of moose killed and further reduce the already dwindling moose population. How can anyone think this proposal will help increase the moose population? Read more

I would like to see a system that lets license moose hunters take any sex animals. They would be able to hunt the next year if unsuccessful . The successful hunters would have to skip the following year but able to hunt the third year. Read more

I managed the moose program a long time ago in the Northern Region and, in fact, installed the first ever controlled hunt at Kapuskasing. My comment is simple, your moose tag system has become so complex that even I do not understand it anymore. Read more

The present system is too punitive and ineffective when it concerns moose hunting. I am 70 yrs old with ten points meaning I may be able to harvest one moose (if i'm lucky) in the rest of my lifetime. Read more

The allocation process should move the dates when ones learns if they are successful earlier in the year as hunters that go through an outfitter must put a deposit down to reserve their place usually around December for hunting the following year. Read more
