It is Pauling to see this proposal even entertained. It is a clear cash grab by Doug Ford and is developer friends. These natural habitats are crucially important to both the wildlife in the area and migrant birds, not to mention the impact on the residents in the area this would disrupt for years. Read more

I oppose any "commercialization" of Provincial Parks. We need to retain public ownership of spaces in this province. This proposal is particularly egregious because it affects an endangered population of Plovers. Read more

The giving away of Wasaga Beach is almost criminal. Why can't we just leave nice things nice. This area should be enjoyed in its natural state for all to enjoy. Plus the endangered Piping Plover needs the beach for its nesting. Don't give it away.

Stop selling our public spaces! This is an essential habitat for wildlife, and an outdoor refuge and playground for many Ontario families. We pay taxes, we demand our public spaces stay public. Enough is enough!

The land transfer of provincial park area out of the provincial park is a bad idea - Beach Area 1 is a well known nesting ground for the Endangered Piping Plover. Read more

The public land should remain as public land for the enjoyment of everyone and not to be used by developers. Our ecosystem will be disrupted for the Piping Plovers and I don’t see the Town of Wasaga Beach respecting the habitat. Read more

Wasaga Beach needs to be left alone as a Park and as a Historic Park, period. It took years to address the issues caused by profiting from that beach, and it cannot be opened up again just for money. Read more

I am writing to express my deep concern and strong opposition to the proposed changes to the Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves Act that would remove approximately 60% of the shoreline from Wasaga Beach Provincial Park and transfer it to the Town of Wasaga Beach for potential development. I do not trust that the government of Ontario has the environment as a priority and will destroy the habitat of many species by allowing the development of Wasaga Beach. Stop the sale of our Provincial Park land. Read more

I am commenting today about the proposed changes to the Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves Act of 2006. Apparently this is being done to allow portions of Wasaga Beach Provincial Park to be sold to the Town of Wasaga Beach. Read more

I strongly disagree with changing the act of 2006 that protects provincial parks from being sold. These amendments are being proposed so Wasaga Beach area one and two as well as New Wasaga and Allenwood Beaches can be sold to the Town of Wasaga Beach for development. Read more

I am writing to express my concern that the Province of Ontario is transferring the Wasaga Beach Prov. Park to the town of Wasaga Beach. Wasaga Beach is a breeding area for Piping Plovers, an endangered shorebird in Ontario. Because these birds nest on sandy beaches, suitable habitat is rare. Read more

The piping plover is an endangered species in Ontario and Wasaga beach is their habitat. There should be absolutely no land transfer of selling off of public land. It’s precious beach access that took decades to establish. The beach should be preserved and protected. Read more

Mr. Ford~~ hands off our beaches and parklands. Who do you think you are? Don’t ruin our province with your tasteless reconfigured mess. You have $$$$ gain on your brain. Where’s our Science Centre? Our children are missing a vital part of their education! Read more

Wasaga Beach is popular because of Wasaga Beach Provincial Park, and the vastness of it. Decreasing the size to allow development of the land can NEVER bring back the beautiful sandy beaches for people to enjoy. Read more
