I am very much against this proposal, and I view this as an attempt to take away Ontarians' access to precious areas of protected natural beauty within our Province that belong to all of us and to provide them to developers for their own purely selfish profits. Read more

While we can’t stop development, it is important to maintain the natural integrity of the Wasaga beach landscape and shoreline. I oppose the development. Read more

Piping plovers are endangered and your government wants to develop Wesaga Beach and remove more vital piping plover habitat. Development can take place on other land. Once Piping plovers are gone THEY ARE GONE!! Please reconsider.

Disagree with selling any Ontario park land to private enterprises. Too much of our beautiful land is already private. We need to keep and preserve what little we have left that is public and beautiful

I strongly oppose the sale of provincial park lands to the Town of Wasaga Beach. These lands are ecologically significant and play a critical role in supporting biodiversity, including habitat for important and at-risk species, such as the piping plover. Read more

I am strongly against this. We need to protect our provincial parks and not just mow them down for development of condos that no one can afford. Read more

There is such high demand and such limited supply of public parkland in Ontario... We should be reserving more public parkland, not selling off what already exists. Read more

I used to see the plovers in the sandy soils nearby where I live. As the developers and builders pushed in and removed this habitat I have not seen a plover or heard their sing song calls in many many years. This saddens me greatly. Read more

I am completely against this proposal. As a citizen of Ontario I’m proud of our legacy of protecting public lands and making them accessible to everyone. Wasaga Beach needs to remain as it is—open, undeveloped and a haven for wildlife and humans. Read more

What a terrible, short-sighted proposal. Public waterfront access in Ontario is already very limited. The Government of Ontario should be going in the opposite direction, securing more land for public enjoyment and environmental conservation. I cannot support this move. Read more

Provincial Parks are supposed to be protected forever. Doug Ford wore a Canada is not for sale this should include selling protected areas to private Canadian investors as well. This sets a terrible precedent and makes the designation of "Provincial Park" meaningless. Read more

This is terrible news. Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves should not be sold for profit. We almost lost the once, and it was only because of this protected habitat that they've been able to breed and flourish. KEEP OUR PARKS PROTECTED!!!

Wildfires are showing us what can happen when we ignore the habitat of any of our non-human cohabitants on this planet. The Piping plover may not feature prominently in our consciousness, but to destroy it and its habitat, is clearly to destroy ourselves. Read more

I am not okay with turning over the Wasaga beach park to the town. It is a provincial park and should be kept that way for all Ontarians to use. Keep the park provincial!!!!

I am against selling any provincial parks or parts of provincial parks to private developers or development that will be harmful to environment and wildlife. Provincial parks are for the people of Ontario to enjoy and not the people who can afford what a private developer would charge.

Tearing up Wasaga Beach puts endangered species like the piping plover at risk. I understand the 'need for tourism' but it's part of the natural beauty and habitat that brings tourists. This is unacceptable. When you walk down Wasaga Beach strip there is absolutely nothing to see.
