As a owner of property in New Wasaga Beach which has been our family for over 80 years we are against the transfer of ownership of New Wasaga to Wasaga as fearful of further beach development which will harm the environment and change the Wasaga beach experience.

Please protect this natural habitat, it’s not fair to the birds to take away their home- they don’t know what’s happening and won’t know where else to go! Protect it as if it was your own home being demolished without your permission.
Provincial Parks provide the necessary framework to carry out important conservation efforts in places like this. Any town’s municipal representatives do not have the expertise, the time, or in most cases, the funding to properly administrate the care of such an area.

We do not want to see the Park divided in such a way that it destroys the environment and natural beauty of the area. Wasaga development has already been pushed forward without thinking of how to sustain what is already here and save old growth forests and animal habitats.

With the proposed changes in mind, I think it is unrealistic that the Town of Wasaga Beach will have enough expertise and resources to protect the Piping Plover, if they do even consider protecting the species.

I’m all for enhancing Wasaga Beach’s tourism but the province needs to go back to the drawing board, work with ALL stakeholders and come up with a less damaging proposal that doesn’t significantly reduce the public’s access to one of Ontario’s gems.

The Provincial Park portions of Wasaga Beach MUST remain under the umbrella of Ontario Provincial Parks. These lands must not be transferred to the town of Wasaga Beach. This Province needs more provincial parks not less.

Wasaga beach is an important provincial park, the longest fresh water beach with important endangered wildlife. With climate change on the rise Wasaga beach is of great ecological importance and should be protected and always be a place for community and ecology to thrive.

I have visited Wasaga Beach many times during my long life and residence in Ontario and,I plead with government to not sell any part of Wasaga Beach Provincial Park . This part of the lake should continue to be for everyone's use, so much of the lakefront is already owned privately.

My family has owned property at New Wasaga Beach for over 100 years. My status changed from lifelong cottager to full time resident some years ago. I am acquainted with the various administrative bodies which have been in control of the beaches, both good and bad.
