I do not want to see this amendment go through. I have gone to Wasaga Beach for over 60 years. Please preserve for future generations. It is important to keep this beautiful beach as a natural element as opposed to condo development.

The proposal to remove land from an existing provincial park for the purposes of allowing it to be developed is completely counter to why parks were created in the first place. I am vehemently opposed to this proposal and it should be immediately stopped. Read more

As a citizen of the surrounding towns, I am very concerned about the future of the piping plovers and their habitats. As an endangered species these birds have already been struggling to re-establish their habitats on the beach.

The amendment of these key acts will henceforth destroy the habitats of the piping plovers. These acts are key in all provincial parks to uphold the standards of all living organisms that inhabit each park. Read more

The proposed area of development is an extremely rare habitat in Ontario due to habitat loss. It needs to be preserved and protected at all costs. Any economic benefit would be greatly overshadowed by the destruction of the rare and valuable sand dunes and pine oak savannah. Read more

Wasaga Provincial Park is our park. It is not up to Ford to sell any part of it so that his friends can build multi-million dollar condos on the beach. Let us, the people, continue to use it the park as is.

The selling of any part of the Provincial Park at Wasaga Beach is a HUGE mistake. This beach is a natural gem and must be preserved and enjoyed in it's natural state, not sold off for development and profit. It sickens me to know this is being proposed. Particularly the beach areas 1 and 2. Read more

We must protect our provincial parks at all costs. No new development should be allowed on Georgian bay including wasaga beach and the proposed pumped storage power plant in Meaford.

This is ridiculous. This is the green belt scandal all over again. This land should stay a park and Belling to the people of Ontario forever. Additionally the piping plover needs this land and had made remarkable strides in making a recovery. This is absurd this is even being discussed. Read more

I don't believe there is a good reason to remove these areas from the Provincial Park. The claims of no development by the mayor, further reiterates that position. We don't want development there, therefore, why remove it from its current designation.

This site is the most important remaining Piping Plover habitat in Ontario, producing half of the province’s fledglings since 2007. Under provincial management, tourism and endangered species protection have successfully coexisted for nearly two decades. Read more
