I’m writing to share my opinion that Beaches 1, 2, New Wasaga, and Allenwood Beach should all remain parkland and not be transferred to the town of Wasaga Beach. Read more

With the recent major changes to diminish the power and reach of the Endangered Species Act, Ontario is continuing to remove protections for critical habitat at a time when they have never been more important. Read more

This proposal does not recognize that Wasaga visitors come from a wide range. For example, growing up in Barrie I have many fond memories of trips to Wasaga. Transfer to the town does not outline access for visitors, cost and how non Wasaga residents will be able to visit this beloved beach. Read more

I don’t believe selling areas of a provincial park is in the best interest of Ontarians. My parents live in wasaga beach so I visit the area often, there are many more land opportunities that could be acquired and used to increase tourism. Read more

I value the province of Ontario's support to assist the town of Wasaga Beach to improve their economic growth and development of tourism. However, I am deeply concerned that Piping plover habitat protection will not be prioritized as development on their nesting habitat will be detrimental. Read more

As an indigenous person with family ties to Wasaga Beach and Georgian Bay, I would rather see the Provincial Park be the one to take over Beach Areas 1, 2, New Wasaga, Allenwood Beach and the Downtown area of Wasaga Beach, in effect extending the Provincial Park along the shore. Read more

I do not support this. Wasaga Beach should remain a provincial park under the control of the province and not transferred to municipal control. It should not be developed and remain as it is.

The recent proposal to transfer or sell this invaluable conservation land to the Town of Wasaga Beach threatens the integrity of these protected public lands. Development projects intended for this land could lead to irreversible environmental damage. Read more

Wasaga supports a population of Piping Plovers and I'm concerned about their protection under this proposal. Please consider making their protection a requirement.

Let's NOT undo 30+ years of conservation efforts. Endangered species and other wildlife rely on intact beaches for breeding. Without them they will go extinct. Tourism benefits and atrracts visitors when the environments are pristine. Read more
