Our provincial parks should not be for sale, especially when endangered species like the piping plover are at stake. Read more

The proposed development at Wasaga Beach is simply unbelievable. Taking over a provincial park for development is completely the opposite of what these lands were meant to be. Read more

This is so short sighted, true value is in our parks and our lakes. Just because no one has tallied the benefits a place like this makes on air quality, species diversity, etc in dollars doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.

Do not do this. Parkland is NOT just here for human enjoyment, although that is certainly important. There are the animal inhabitants, who were here long before most of us, and certainly deserve the right to exist peacefully, without being pushed into smaller and smaller spaces. Read more

Can not happen. It is absolutely irresponsible to destroy beaches and nesting sites of endangered birds such as the piping plover when there are other ways to enhance tourism. No new buildings, no selling off protected land. Protected land must stay protected. Read more

Wasaga beach says it respects the spiritual interconnection between the indigenous peoples and the land, however this proposal speaks the opposite. Sacred land must be protected from exploitation. Read more

As a fish and wildlife technician and Species At Risk advocate, I am formally stating that the Piping Plover (Charadrius melodus) at Wasaga Beach should continue to be protected with maximum efforts. Read more

Your track record on the environment is absolutely terrible. If you want a proud legacy you cannot always put development ahead of the environment at such a critical time in history. Read more

I oppose this proposal. The land should be kept under provincial management as we already have centralized knowledge, resources, and systems in place to most efficiently protect the environment provincially. Read more

In favour of keeping the area under PPCRA & Ontario parks. Based off species in the area and the difference in prioritizing preservation of land between the two organizations/ministries, I think we should keep park land as is.

Do NOT transfer land to the current council in Wasaga Beach, they are irresponsible spendthrifts that have shown no ability to manage a budget and have not provided a business case analysis to the residents to determine if this is a “good deal” for the town or just a selfish wish from a few council Read more

I have a lot of concerns and questions about this proposal. Beaches have to be kept public and all beaches have to have public access. What is to stop the municipality of Wasaga Beach from privatizing the beach? Exactly how will this be of economic benifit for Canadians. Read more

I am deeply concerned that the government is considering removing such a large portion of Wasaga Beach from the Provincial Park and am very much opposed to this action. Read more
