Public land should remain public. Wasaga Provincial Park is home to endangered species and should be protected.

I strongly oppose the proposed removal of 645 acres from Wasaga Beach Provincial Park. This park is an ecological treasure, providing habitat for endangered species and attracting over 1.3 million visitors annually to enjoy the world’s longest freshwater beach. Read more

As someone who has lived in Collingwood and spent many summers at Wasaga beach - all the beaches from beach 1 down to the dog beach, I am devastated to learn of the news of selling off public protected park land to private developers. Read more

I am opposed to selling off parts of Ontario’s provincial parks for development. There is ample already serviced land within municipalities to accommodate new homes and businesses without having to sacrifice parts of our precious provincial parks which are for the enjoyment of all Ontarians. I am not a resident of Wasaga but have been a visitor to the area for many years. Each visit in the last few years seems to show more urbanization and less of the distinctness of the wonderful beach and park land that was the attraction to go there. Read more

If the government is "protecting Ontario", it should also be protecting nature and natural areas in Ontario, as well as Ontarian's that value such things. Provincial parks should be protected in perpetuity, and wildlife like the Piping Plover should be respected and protected as well. Read more

I ask the Ford government Immediately stop the sale of 645 acres of Wasaga Provincial Park; to not amend the Provincial Parks and Conservation Reserves Act; and to recognize its responsibility to hold Provincial Park lands in trust for future generations.

We do not support the sale of 60% of our land on Wasaga's beachfront to private developers. This land belongs to the people of Ontario and should not be privatized for the benefit of a small group of people. Read more

This is another disastrous legislation by the Ford government and must be rejected. We must protect our environment and not allow it to be destroyed!

Wasaga Beach Provincial Park isn’t just a summer destination, it’s one of the last remaining nesting grounds for the endangered Piping Plover in Ontario. These tiny shorebirds have made a fragile comeback since 2007, thanks to years of careful stewardship and protection. Read more

We need to keep the Provincial Park protected and out of the hands of people who want to build on it. This park is detrimental to the wildlife and ecosystems of Wasaga Beach. You already have a disgusting hotel being built you don't need condos. Read more

I've lived in Wasaga Beach for 25 years and have watched the Beach area of the provincial park degrade year after year. The plot across from my house, which is called a calming zone, within the park has 6 foot high weeds and is infested with ticks as a result. Read more
