Hello, I'd like to submit a comment regarding the abandoned Jamesville housing complex in Hamilton. These affordable housing units were emptied and have been sitting abandoned for years now, while the city is experiencing a housing crises.

the new 20-story tower + adding an additional 5 stories to the other buildings has cause of concern for population density, parking etc.. in my personal opinion.
The Janesville site has sat for too long unoccupied and needs to be built on. However the plans have too many units. The area bound by Jamesville can't handle the traffic it will create. Already Bay Street and McNab st can be a bottle neck with people driving to Bayfront parks.

I have lived in the North End of Hamilton since 2015 and love the sense of community and care here. It has been deeply troubling to see the Jamesville townhouses sit empty while we face a housing crisis in the city, with many of our former neighbours displaced from their homes unnecessarily.

I think that an MZO is required for the subject lands (Jamesville, Hamilton, ON). The site was previously affordable housing. There is a significant need for affordable housing in Hamilton. The proposal includes supported affordable housing.

I am a resident in the neighbourhood and my main concerns are:
• The proposed 20-storey building greatly exceeds the maximum 6-storey height limit set by Hamilton’s Setting Sail Secondary Plan, which was developed through public consultation.

I wish to state that I fully support the issuance of a Ministerial Order. It is long overdue that this project got underway, especially given the dire needs of the citizens of this community.
I am a resident living very near the Jamesville site abd I do not support the MZO.

This project is long overdue. Hamilton has a major problem with homelessness and a significant shortage of affordable housing. The proposed development is essential to address this crisis. CN Rail should not be allowed to block this development.

I am happy that our mayor has proceeded in this manner. I am fully in support of the original plan for the former Jamesvile property, which included market rate plus low income housing. I am not in favour of any high-rise buildings, though, as parking in the area is limited.

Andrea Horwath and her group of Coucillors push through these structures on the inner city of Hamilton, thus ghetto using areas that were rebuilding from past exoduses to the Mountain and suburbs.
