As someone who works in social services and sees the state of housing in Hamilton, this is absolutely needed. There are so many people that need affordable homes and need supports from places like Indwell. The state that Hamilton has gotten to makes it hard to even drive into work. It's sad. Read more

The fact that this has been sitting here for years empty while there is a housing shortage is absolutely disgusting. CN should be ashamed of themselves for preventing this development. This MZO should be approved so people who don’t have housing can be housed.

I would like to see this project move ahead. People were already living there are were displaced. We need more affordable housing and housing supports like Indwell is offering. Be sure to build it properly to mitigate any issues that could arise.

I used to live on Ferrie St right across from the abandoned lot. Every time I left my front door it broke my heart to see such a waste of quality downtown space especially at a time when homelessness is so pervasive. It is unjust and undignified for CN Rail to block its development. Read more

The homelessness issue in Hamilton is dire. Rents and housing prices are extremely high which makes them unaffordable for many citizens. We also are in incredible need for supportive housing for those who live with substance abuse and mental health issues. Read more

As a longtime resident of Hamilton, I knew the Jamesville complex when it was full of families. The long overdue delay is starting it's new life as affordable and market rent housing is desperately needed to relieve the backlog on the city and its residents for affordable housing. Read more
