I live directly across the street from this proposed development. The property, in its vacant state, has become a safety and wellbeing issue for our neighbourhood. The concerns brought forward by CN Rail, while understandable, do not warrant holding our neighbourhood hostage. Read more

As a resident of Hamilton who has also supported refugee claimants and refugees I am deeply concerned about the need for affordable subsidized housing in Hamilton. I strongly encourage the Ministry Zoning Order for the residential development at Jamesville. Read more

It is my opinion and that of many others that I have spoken to that, the correct thing to do involving this problem would be to preserve the original houses that are built there, and use them as housing for the homeless. There are several problems that arise with this current issue. Read more

This property has been empty long enough. Hamilton needs so much affordable housing and the ontario government has fallen short. Sadly not just in this issue but getting this housing project going and completed is a step in the right direction. Read more

this project has been in limbo for years. Why because one stakeholder is holding up the process. Literally holding the city hostage and is hampering people's lives. We have an affordable housing crisis and we need to get this built ASAP. Read more

This project has been delayed for much much too long, especially in the face of a severe housing crisis. This complex has been derelict for at least 8 years, it is an embarrassing reminder that bureaucracy and red tape can prevent the desperate need for development. Read more

This is an incredibly straightforward response. Yes, not only should it be considered it should be actioned. We have watched for 6 years absolutely nothing take over this space whilst having families sleep in tents. We need more housing and we need it now.

I support the city's request. It seems entirely reasonable that this be developed into housing. As someone who lives in the same neighborhood, having commercial and industrial happenings amongst where we live is just part of the living in this neighborhood. Read more

CN's statements make it seem like they're more concerned about the impacts that their carcinogenic air pollution will have on the health and well-being of future north end residents, than they, or governments at every level, are about current north end residents. Read more
