As a long-time North End Hamilton resident I care deeply about the Jamesville housing development. It has been extremely frustrating to see this land sit vacant for so many years. At a time when we need more housing in our city and in our neighbourhood, it is completely inappropriate. Read more

The area should have greater green space, less surface parking and a development in-keeping with the scale and character of the neighbourhood. The proposal submission exceeds the building height limit of six storeys outlined in the Setting Sail Secondary Plan. Read more

While I have not generally been in favor of the use of MZOs, in this case, I believe one should be seriously considered. We are strong supporters of Indwell and its work to provide affordable housing, and I volunteer with Hamilton Habitat. Read more

We have lived in Hamilton beautiful north end since 2018. Since 2019 this has been an eyesore. The fact it’s taken over 6 years to “negotiate” is horrific. We are in a housing crisis. An economical crisis. A tariff war and previously weathered a pandemic. People need housing. Read more
