This is not a positive change and will only put the protection on our Wetlands and protected areas in the hands of large government offices or developers. The smaller organizations such as GRCA act in the best interest of nature and personal safety. Water management and land protection is key. Read more

The proposed consolidation model combines communities and watersheds with little shared hydrology or infrastructure. This approach is simply not suited to the Conservation Authority mandate. Read more

Local decisions should have local decision makers. While there may be merit in some streamlining of operations and maybe combining some adjacent southern Ontario CAs, the proposal does not make sense for northern Ontario. Read more

I urge the province to reconsider merging CA’s due to their build more faster mandate. Merging CA’s will degrade a system where in each CA intimately knows its watershed and has reasonable response times and educational programs. How can these things even reasonably continue if things are merged. Read more
