This proposed change to the Conservation Authoritys of Ontario does not make economic sense as well as it adds another layer of buricratic red tape to the operation and organization of Conservation Authorities. Read more

I personally do not think we need to be re-organizing and combining the Conservation Authorities. This just seems like a make work project for someone in an office in the big city. If it's not broken, why are we trying to fix it. Read more

I am completely against this proposal. If these changes happen, many crucial ecosystems will be lost to development and housing, leading to environmental degradation and long term concerns that are irreversible. Read more

Making these changes under the ruse of efficiency by the provincial conservatives is absolute bullshit. We need conversation groups thats reflect the area and regions they work for and with and having smaller sections ensures each regions needs are being met and considered on their own basis. I agree with HCA’s submission to the ERO. I am concerned about losing local decision-making and I support keeping conservation decisions rooted in our community. Changing boundaries will have a negative impact, and be an unnecessarily costly undertaking.

This proposal is not in the best interest of the community. Conservation Authorities exist in their current configuration for a reason, and that is to address the needs of the local communities that are directly affected by the natural systems of their watershed. Read more

Do not approve of this massive consolidation of conservation. No amalgamation I have seen ( GTA and Ottawa municipalities has gone well, services got lost, voices and concerns gone unheard in the rural areas. I do not think that we should be playing around with our beautiful natural resources. Read more
