In this day and age, protecting our endangered species is crucial. It is easy to get caught up in the pace of the world and want things done faster and cheaper. While this can be great in some circumstances, it shouldn’t be at the expense of another. Read more

I oppose Bill 5. It tramples on indigenous rights, it ignores science and guts environmental protections. I want a place for my kid to grow up with green space and animals - not concrete

This whole plan is asinine. Stop ruining the environment to line your pockets Doug Ford. The only way our ecosystem works is with ALL types of wildlife. If you allow the endangered and threatened ones to not longer be protected then the whole cycle will fail and it will be solely your fault. Read more

No - I disapprove of the proposed changes. A project shouldn’t start before the Ministry has reviewed an application, habitat absolutely must be protected. There is nothing vague about needing habitat to live. Read more

My comment is: with a “registration first” approach, will “activity” be started, potentially damaging habitats, and then when the activity is evaluated but the damage has already been done there is nothing we can do to fix what has already been done. Read more

Horrible idea and a great way for companies to skirt environmental regulations and proper research prior to projects like mining and land exploration. Not only does this bill infringe on indigenous sovereign communities, but it is disinformation for the general public, who Read more

I would like you to revoke the intention to make caring for endangered species voluntary rather than being overseen by the government! If you need additional funding to run this program, find the money by eliminating government waste (I have 100 ideas if you’d like to hear them). Thank you

The proposed changes to the Endangered Species Act are harmful, short sighted, and do not benefit humans or animals living in Ontario, only certain, harmful types of businesses. Read more

There is only one clear agenda by changing Bill 5...greed and profit. It didn't take long for Ford to show his true colours again. It's frightening for the future. Stop this madness! Protect our vulnerable wildlife...please!!

Although I appreciate the goal of trying to improve speed of construction and development, there needs to be thought and consideration for the environment and species that once used or destroyed cannot be repaired. Read more

Do NOT, I repeat, do NOT get rid of any protections our natural world including bird habitats (not just nesting sites) or any other plant or animal species protections. We should be putting more protections in place not stripping protections away. Read more

It is preposterous to continue to pave over our agricultural lands and destroy the natural habitats of our flora and fauna. How will we feed our own people (Ontario and the rest of Canada) as well as send needed food to the rest of the world if we continue to eat away at our rich farmland. Read more
